Introducing Crayola’s Newest Cool Color

What’s in a name? When it comes to the name of a pencil, it turns out that the answer is a lot! The iconic paint manufacturer recently announced its nineteenth large – scale active blue color. And you will love how the latest addition to the 24-Count Pencil box is called.

After four months and 90,000 proposals of unique names, the winner of the company’s North American Pencil naming campaign was announced this week at an event in New York. And the Winner is…Bluetiful!

There’s a cool part where they reveal the world’s largest pencil according to GUINNESS world records, which measures 15.6 feet long and weighs 1.352 pounds. I’m sure my kids could do this in a few days, though

Smith Holland, president and CEO of Crayola, said in a press release about the event: “We could not have imagined a particular way to end our color campaign and promote the color and creativity that this new chalk color and name.”

Melanie Boulden, senior vice president of U.S. and Global Marketing, added, ” Thanks to the passion and creativity of our Fans, our new blue has a new name. The name Bluetiful exudes creativity and originality. We can’t wait to welcome you in the Blue family of Crayola.”

By the way, Bluetiful will replace the previously retired blue dandelion, one of my personal favorites.

You can buy a box of Bluetiful pencils from the end of January 2018. Coloring Fans, but also the new Color and an exclusive coloring book mainly at wal-mart or pick up Walmart.com and Jet.com in November.
